Why We're Doing This

I started Blank Space when I was 18. That's ten years ago now.

For most of that time, I loved every bit of it. I was the guy setting targets and smashing them, doubling what we did last month, selling out stock and reordering it, always chasing the next number. That was fun for years.

This year's been different, and so has the last few. Retail's had a hard run right across the country, and we've felt it too. I've watched stores around us close. I've watched businesses much bigger than ours go backwards. If you run a small business yourself, or you know someone who does, you'll know the feeling.

So I'm doing something about it, and I wanted to tell you why rather than just run a sale and say nothing.

What's happening

From now until Sunday 4th of October, every single brand is marked down to 40% off. All your favourites from Federation, Huffer, Django & Juliette and the rest, however this excludes Seeking Lola and all our current pre-orders. Our own in-house label is 20% off. We don't discount our label much, and this is the one exception I'm making this year, because I want this to actually count.

Why

This isn't a clearance for the sake of it. I'm clearing space and clearing stock so we can go into summer leaner, with more of what we make ourselves on the shelves and less of everything else. That's the direction I've wanted to take this business for a while now, and this sale is part of actually getting there, not just talking about it.

I'm not going to pretend this year's been easy, because it hasn't, for us or for a lot of businesses like ours. But I've done this for ten years, I started it from nothing at 18, and I'm not walking away from it now. This is me doing something about it instead.

Thanks for shopping with us, and for sticking with us this long. It means more than you'd think.
