Shirts and tees for work, weekends and everything between
Oxfords, linen shirts, polos, graphic tees and the plain one you will wear out. This is the biggest category we carry for men, and the one where fabric weight matters most.
Oxford, linen and poplin
An oxford is the shirt to own if you only own one. The basketweave holds a collar without starch, takes a wash without complaint and looks right tucked or out. Buy it in white or light blue first.
Linen is the summer shirt. It breathes better than anything else and it will crease, which is the trade. Wear it open over a tee or buttoned with the sleeves rolled.
Poplin is smoother and dressier, better under a blazer and less forgiving untucked.
Tees and polos
The weight of a tee is what decides whether it lasts. A heavier cotton jersey keeps its shape through the shoulders and does not go transparent. A polo sits between a tee and a shirt and is the easiest way to look tidier without changing what you are doing.
Graphic tees from Federation, Huffer and Volcom sit alongside plain heavyweights.
The labels
Rodd & Gunn for heavy cotton and linen shirting made by a label that has been at it in New Zealand since 1946. Scotch & Soda out of Amsterdam for shirts with more detail than most. Ben Sherman for mod rooted oxfords and polos that have barely changed shape since the sixties. Federation and Huffer for tees and everyday shirting. Garcia, Huxter and Volcom round it out.
